To file your federal taxes online, start here.  You need to complete your federal tax form before you start in on your California, or state, form.

The Arcadia Library did not have any 1099-R IRS forms, nor did the Pasadena Main Branch Library have any.  In the old days, they used to carry these forms, all the forms that people needed.

You cannot always download forms from the IRS site because the online versions of the form do not have the embedded bar code required by the IRS.  And then your local libraries and post offices don't carry all the forms you might need.  So what do you do to get the forms approved by the IRS?  You order them directly from the IRS.  You have to call them or initiate an online chat to get these forms.

I ordered some forms from the IRS website yesterday.  I'd read on one page that each form would cost .25.  When I asked that the
