TROUBLE-SHOOTING SITES:
4. Tom's Hardware. Here
is a link to the forums. Though this site has been my go-to site for trouble-shooting, in this case, the folks at Tom's Hardware failed to deliver. Here is the post I made back on May 12, 2020.
5. Freecomputerconsultant. This site has no forum, least none that I can find.
6. The Windows Club. These guys do have a forum. I shall try it. Here is the forum for Windows 10 Management. I cannot believe my experience with these sites. Basic tools, like a tab or button to post a question are not obvious. Is this feature behind a paywall? It doesn't say. But it has a decent rating by people who use it, so I don't know what gives.
8. Tech Support Forum. Okay, well, "forum" is in their name, so, yes, they do have a forum. Okay, I was finally able to register and find the NEW THREAD button on the site. Not intuitive at all. And I was able to post today, Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Find that post here. So I am waiting . . . again. And there's no guarantee that I will get a reliable reply, one that is productive in restoring my files. USE THIS FORUM.
Well this certainly surprised me, given my chronic inability to get answers, reliable answers, anywhere. I posted my question at 3:13pm on 5/26/2020 and I received a reply by 4:47pm. Not bad, not bad at all from Tech Support Forum. Also, I received fairly specific instructions. Now I'll have to see if the recommended procedures work.
Okay, I was asked to submit my post in another category, called Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help.

1. Windows Ten Forums.
2. Reddit
3. HowtoGeek. HowtoGeek only uses Facebook page. Not enough requests to host a forum. Fine.

The Windows Club has a consumer rating of 4.73 stars from 11 reviews indicating that most consumers are generally satisfied with their purchases. The Windows Club also ranks 4th among Windows sites.7. Howto-Connect. This site isn't much better. There is a contact page, but check out what it says regarding contacting someone at their site
